Kitchen Equipment
Having the right kitchen appliances can save you a whole lot of time and energy when preparing meals at home. And if you’ve ever stayed in an AirBnB where the only kitchen knife appears to be from a children’s play set, you’ll appreciate how having the right tools can completely change your cooking experience.
Below are some of my favourite kitchen appliances, tools and equipment that i use on a regular basis, and that i would recommend to anyone who cooks at home.

CONTAINERS: Igluu Glass Containers*
After trying many different types of Tupperware and meal prep containers, I’m finally really happy with these ones. The small ones are the perfect size for breakfast and snacks, and the larger ones are great for anything from lunch, to dinner, to freezer leftovers. They are fridge, dishwasher, freezer, oven, and microwave-safe and super durable so you wont be replacing them all the time (if ever!). Also great if you’re worried about microplastics in your foods as these are glass (the lids are plastic).
REUSABLE FOOD BAGS: OXO Good Grip Silicone Bag*
If you’ve watched any of my smoothie videos you’ll recognise this as the bag i keep my frozen bananas in! (as of 2025, anyway) This is one is a great size, but they do smaller ones too. I love the fact that it’s super easy to seal and also wash (turn it inside out and put in the dishwasher) and the flat bottom means it stands up easily, making filling it a doddle.
BUTTER DISH: Artesà Small Cloche*
If you’re a 1 or 2 person household then this butter dish is perfect! I was getting fed up with my butter going off before i had chance to use it, and now i have never have that problem anymore. Plus she is super cute…
FOOD PROCESSOR / BLENDER: Ninja 3-in-1 Food Processor with Auto-IQ BN800UK*
The blender jar is for liquids, e.g. soups & smoothies, and the food processor is for chopping, slicing and pureeing anything that’s too solid for a blender, e.g. dicing vegetables, or making pesto. The single serve blender cup is handy for speedy morning smoothies. This version is a 3-in-1 so it saves you counter space. It’s relatively quiet and easily the most powerful version on the market within this price range. It can go straight in the dishwasher so no fiddly washing-up required.
RICE COOKER / STEAMER: Russell Hobbs Electric Rice Cooker & Steamer*
For cooking rice or grains, steaming vegetables. All you do is measure the grains & the water, then you can switch it on & forget about it. The ‘keep warm’ function comes on automatically when the water has been absorbed, so you come back to perfectly cooked rice every time! And the steaming basket is a handy way to multitask.
COFFEE / SPICE GRINDER: SHARDOR Electric Coffee Grinder*
For finely grinding coffee beans, whole spices, nuts etc. If you have a coffee machine, then this is a no-brainer for getting the most out of it. Similarly, if you cook with spices, the flavour from freshly ground whole spices is incomparable to buying them pre-ground.
STAND MIXER: KitchenAid Mixer 5KSM125 (Tilt-head 4.8L Artisan)*
For mixing, whipping and kneading are its core functions. Baking cakes, or attempting pizza dough after an intense upper body day? She’s got your back! It’s sturdy, powerful, and used by chefs and bakers globally. You can also buy a myriad of attachments for it, so if sausage-making really is your passion, it can do that too.
SLOW COOKER: Russell Hobbs Slow Cooker*
For slow-cooking stews, curries, joints of meat. Add your ingredients, turn it on, and let the magic happen. Perfect for winter cooking or for having dinner ready by the time you get home from work. You can get some which are ‘multi-cookers’ with many different functions, but this one is a basic slow cooker which is a very good price.
